The Single Strap Lewis is a high-quality shoe produced by our own craftsmen. The leather is cut and the upper assembled entirely by hand in our Rome workshop.
To produce the Lewis, Calzoleria Petrocchi uses only carefully selected leathers such as Italian and French kid which have been tanned by natural and aniline processes to emphasise the original characteristics of the skins.
Only Italian leather is used for the outsole, the midsole and heel.
The shoe is cut from a single piece of leather and the absence of seam lines makes it a particularly elegant style (note the smooth heel area!) with exceptional resistance to wear.
The seam of the sole is stitched with the Blake-Rapid technique, a double seam technique using a special stitching machine. The first seam sews the insole, the upper and the midsole together, the second joins the midsole to the outsole.
Note that the sole has a characteristic curvature, the so-called bombè.
