Description
The San Pietro Loafer is a high-quality shoe produced by our own craftsmen. The leather is cut and the upper assembled entirely by hand in our Rome workshop.
To produce the San Pietro, Calzoleria Petrocchi uses only carefully selected leathers such as Italian and French kid which have been tanned by natural and aniline processes to emphasise the original characteristics of the skins.
Only Italian leather is used for the outsole, the midsole and heel.
The seam of the top part of the upper, the vamp, is carefully stitched to form a small profile. Roman shoemakers have traditionally called this stitched profile the “maccheroncino”. The handmade tassel, colour matched to the upper, and the woven band is in kid.
The seam of the sole is stitched with the Blake-Rapid technique, a double seam technique using a special stitching machine. The first seam sews the insole, the upper and the midsole together, the second joins the midsole to the outsole.
The sole has a characteristic curvature, the so-called bombè.
