The Paris Derby is a high-quality shoe produced by our own craftsmen. The leather is cut and the upper assembled entirely by hand in our Rome workshop.
To produce the Paris, Calzoleria Petrocchi uses only carefully selected leathers such as Italian and French kid which have been tanned by natural and aniline processes to emphasise the original characteristics of the skins.
Only Italian leather is used for the outsole, the midsole and heel.
The full-grained Paris has alternating punching or broguing (one large and two small holes) on four parts of the shoe: the wing tip (full brogue) around the shoe neck, the quarter or side pieces and the heel cover.
The seam of the sole is stitched with the Blake-Rapid technique, a double seam technique using a special stitching machine. The first seam sews the insole, the upper and the midsole together, the second joins the midsole to the outsole.
The Blake stitch creates a raised border seam on the sole of the shoe, a so-called rats-tail edge.
