Description
The Covent Oxford is a high-quality shoe produced by our own craftsmen. The leather is cut and the upper assembled entirely by hand in our Rome workshop.
To produce the Covent, Calzoleria Petrocchi uses only carefully selected leathers such as Italian and French kid which have been tanned by natural and aniline processes to emphasise the original characteristics of the skins.
Only Italian leather is used for the outsole, the midsole and heel.
The Covent has alternating punching or broguing (one large and two small holes) on three parts of the shoe: the toe cap, around the shoe neck and the quarter or side pieces.
The seam of the sole is stitched with the Blake-Rapid technique, a double seam technique using a special stitching machine. The first seam sews the insole, the upper and the midsole together, the second joins the midsole to the outsole.
Note that the sole has a characteristic curvature, the so-called bombè.
Calzoleria Petrocchi makes the Covent Oxford in a range of leathers and colours. To view the other Oxford models that we produce, please click here.
