The Bercy Derby is a high-quality shoe produced by our own craftsmen. The leather is cut and the upper assembled entirely by hand in our Rome workshop.
To produce the Bercy, Calzoleria Petrocchi uses only carefully selected leathers such as Italian and French kid which have been tanned by natural and aniline processes to emphasise the original characteristics of the skins.
Only Italian leather is used for the outsole, the midsole and heel.
The smooth upper is sewn using only two cuts of leather, making the shoe exceptionally resistant to wear.
The sole is sewn with the Blake-Rapid method, a double seam technique using a special stitching machine. The first seam sews the insole, the upper and the midsole together, the second joins the midsole to the outsole.
The Blake stitch creates a raised border seam on the sole of the shoe, a so-called rats-tail edge.
