Description
The Derby Flex is a high-quality shoe produced by our own craftsmen. The leather is cut and the upper assembled entirely by hand in our Rome workshop.
To produce the Derby Flex, Calzoleria Petrocchi uses only carefully selected leathers such as Italian and French kid which have been tanned by natural and aniline processes to emphasise the original characteristics of the skins.
Only Italian leather is used for the outsole, the midsole and heel.
The smooth upper is sewn using only two cuts of leather, making the shoe exceptionally resistant to wear.
The Derby Flex is made entirely by hand with the Goodyear technique: the upper is mounted on the form (link processing steps). Then the welt is applied, a strip of soft leather, previously treated, which is sewn to the partition, to the upper and, subsequently, to the sole. We then move on to the creation of the sole. We then proceed with the solution, that is the filling of the space between the partition and the sole with the cambrione (a steel tongue with reinforcement function) and cork strips leveled with a file.At 5-6 mm from the edge the leather sole is engraved with a piece of glass, and cut into a small channel, the so-called increna. Inside, the sole seam is slid with the welt. The Derby Flex has an extremely soft and flexible sole since the insole is in leather. This means that the shoe is resistant but flexible and therefore extremely comfortable.
The Goodyear seam we propose can be made for all models of our collection.
